CARP FLY FISHING WITH ANDY LUSH

Andy started his fly fishing over forty years ago when Bewl Bridge as it was known then opened for trout fishing. Andy along with his friends started the long journey of discovery which saw him become a capable bank angler. His transition to boats opened up a whole new world with new methods, tactics and waters to learn. Andy rarely fishes the banks of reservoirs nowadays preferring to share a boat with company.

Fly Fishing is not just for Trout either, as Carp, Pike and Zander are also part of Andy’s target species in the UK. Guiding days are suitable for beginners, improvers or anglers who want to “fast track” their way to success. Carp
With rising water temperatures making trout fishing less attractive during the summer, instead of packing away your fly tackle, why not try fly fishing for carp? It’s a great way to keep your “eye in”, while practicing your casting and catching hard fighting fish too! There are so many waters within a short drive, that you can explore new waters almost every week!

Many carp fisheries now welcome fly anglers, as long as they have the necessary un-hooking equipment, un-hooking mat and large landing net. You need minimal gear, rod, reel, floating line, leader material and a few flies, plus some floating baits to entice fish onto the surface, within your casting range.

What’s provided?
Tackle can be provided, but most fly anglers prefer to use their own. The cost of fishing tickets is covered in your booking.

What to bring?
You will need to bring suitable clothing, plus food and drink, no alcohol please.

One-to-one guiding costs £150 per day*
