CARP FLY FISHING WITH ANDY LUSHAndy started his fly fishing over forty years ago when Bewl Bridge as it was known then opened for trout fishing. Andy along with his friends started the long journey of discovery which saw him become a capable bank angler. His transition to boats opened up a whole new world with new methods, tactics and waters to learn. Andy rarely fishes the banks nowadays preferring to share a boat with company. Boat fishing is a very social way of exploring waters and a lot can be learnt together with a like-minded angler.
Fly Fishing is not just for Trout either as Carp and Pike are now part of Andy’s target species in the UK. Andy has also had a lot of experience "dry fly" fishing for Spanish barbel, for those who wish to add a little extra excitement to their fishing.
These days are suitable for beginners and improvers alike, anglers who want to “fast track” their way to success. Learn more about how to locate fish and consistently catch them, or just have a FUN day with an experienced fly fisherman.
With rising water temperatures making trout fishing less attractive during the summer why not give carp fishing a try, what’s not to like about it? Over the last few years it’s become more acceptable to fly fish for carp and carp fisheries are happy to welcome you as long as you have the necessary un-hooking mat and large landing net. You need minimal gear, rod, reel, floating line, leader material and a few flies plus some floating bait to entice them up. There are so many waters within a short drive that you can explore new waters almost every week, oh and by the way carp fight hard and grow big!
