This pattern, invented by Scott Heywood, is an imitation of the Mantis Shrimp which aboudns throughout the Caribbean. It forms an important part of the food chain and is rarely refused by fish in the wild. It is characterised by its rapid and powerful thrusts of its claws, hence the long appendages on the imitation. Mantis Shrimp can grow to be over 35cm in the wild....so our one is only a baby !
