Also known as The Waterboatman, represented by the two "Paddle-like" legs coming from the sides of the body. This insect appears at the surface in order to collect a bubble of air upon which it depends for its breathing as it swims underwater. It then dives and reappears some moments later for a fresh supply of air. This insect is indeed active and, at times, Trout can become pre-occupied with their presence, often typified with splashy rises close to bank side vegetation. This is a weighted version, with a Silver body to imitate the air bubble in transport.

A pattern by Paul Procter which excels as a "bugging" pattern for both Trout and Grayling. It is used mainly on the river, and is representative all manner of important food items that form an important part of the fish diet. With a two-tone body colour and a distinctive "Grub-like" shape, this is a very impressive and important pattern in the river fishers armoury.

A lively and sparkling pattern designed by Paul Procter to imitate freshwater shrimp. To this end it performs admirably, particularly when fished above a heavier nymph when it is allowed to drift ahead with the current.

This is another Polish pattern form their very successful international team. Representing a caseless caddis, a very important part of the Trout diet, it has achieved legendary status in the past number of seasons.

Despite the stark and bland appearance of this pattern, it is quite an exceptional pattern for River Trout and Grayling. Often fished singly, it can be used in conjunction with lighter-weight patterns which are placed higher up the leader. Its clear shell-back imitates the natural translucency of the natural shrimp and its overall colouring help its visibility even in high and coloured water.

Stalkbugs were "invented" for fishing ultra-clear stillwaters which are stocked with large Brown and Rainbow Trout. The technique is based on the induced-take method whereby the pattern is cast and left to sit, in ambush as such, on a path that the target fish is travelling through on a regular basis. As the fish nears, the line is retrieved, causing the pattern to "jump-up" and imitate a quick getaway which stimulates a feeding response in the fish. They are extremely effective in this regard
