One of the all-time greats, carrying a Picric dyed front hackle. Cut the fibres front underneath the pattern and fish it damp, put it on the top dropper and pull it along the wave tops or remove the wings and fish it as a balling buzzer imitation - any which way - it will still catch fish !

A great Rogan pattern form Ballyshannon in Co. Donegal. Not many are aware that Trout can be fussy as to the sex of the spent upon which they feed. This is a dull and lifeless fly in appearance but is one of the greatest of the "spent" series of mayfly imitations. Fish it singly on along leader with just a touch of floatant on the wings and listen for the "slurp" !
