The reel is made from the highest quality aluminium, specially manufactured to ensure both lightness and extreme strength. It is then subjected to an accelerated maturing and stress relieving process that gives the highest possible performance and durability.

The reel is anodised to architectural standards that increase the hardness of the aluminium by an amazing four hundred per cent. The satin-silver finish is deliberately made anti-glare and is complemented by champagne-gold highlights that proclaim the reel for what it is – a timeless masterpiece.

The cage is gunmetal blue, the spool silver and it looks as good as it performs. The ’cat’s claw’ ventilation reduces the weight of the reel without any impact on its extraordinary strength. Swift reels give a lot of backing capacity and big line coils that make for easy casting and great control. The disc brake features a rugged, central drag knob, perfect for easy adjustment and stopping big fish, while the floating clutch gives one of the easiest left- to righthand conversions made.

It was a bold move to replace the original Angel with an updated version. The Angel has been one of our best-selling reels and been a great favourite on stillwaters and rivers. But we knew it could be improved.

Improvements to the internal and external construction of the Angel 2 bring real benefits when fishing. Redesigning the clutch housing means a toolless left/right conversion takes only seconds instead of minutes. The concealed check system improves the already trusted and dependable Rulon drag. A new all metal handle with a reverse screw fitting increases strength and durability.

A brilliant reel made better. The two Angel Featherweights are designed for smaller, lighter rods with the most sensitive of click checks to protect the lightest of tippets.

The Marksman range of click-check reels are designed to balance perfectly with the Hardy Marksman rods. They look stunning but are supremely practical - especially on small rivers and streams.

The unique spindle-less design greatly reduces the reel’s weight. A large central bearing set into the cage of the spool provides the smoothest rotation. The reel is also heavily ventilated, bringing down the weight, but with no reduction in resilience.



A fixed, click-set drag system means that you can concentrate on the intricacies of precision fishing. The spool’s exposed rim allows you to palm control a running fish.



The mid arbor design is perfect for use with lighter lines, which means little or no line memory, so surface presentation is immaculate. The perfect match of form and function.
