A PIKERS PROGRESSION by JOHN WATSON
|
A Piker’s Progression is the largest book on pike fishing yet published. It is essentially in two parts, the first of which comprises the text of A Piker’s Progress, published in 1991 and recognised in many quarters as the best pike fishing book to date, so much so that it has become highly collectable and commanding a price well into three figures. The original text has not only been updated but has been significantly added to and with many new photographs included, presented in a completely new layout. The second part commences where its predecessor left off and brings the reader to the present day and the end of the 2008/09 season, covering the intervening eighteen years and the author’s escapades during that time. Like the first part its a real roller-coaster ride, detailing not only the fish caught, but also numerous anglers encountered along the way and of course many incidents and situations,as well as no-holds barred opinion on the vagaries of the piking scene in Norfolk which all somehow seem to prove that pike fishing can be so much fun! As is to be expected from all books produced by the prestigious Aitch2 Ltd stable, this one bears all of the hallmarks associated with Stephen Harper’s design and attention to detail. It is a work of the highest quality. |
