While we worked on these Popper rods to do very specific jobs, almost by mistake we have found that in fact they have a far wider range of fishing applications than we thought possible! They were designed and rigorously tested for fishing with big, powerful fixed-spool reels, strong modern lines and monster poppers and lures. We had in mind hard fighting fish like Giant Trevally, Cubera snapper and various other tropical thunderbolts.



Over time we are now finding that the Popper rods are just about perfect for massive European catfish amongst other things. We have heard of 200lb specimens successfully banked down on the River Ebro.


Two tips are provided to offer ultimate flexibility. One is for heavy use, the other for lighter applications. These rods are built to be virtually indestructible, with massive reserves of power. This rod allows you to give it back to the fish, as hard as they give it you!
