The catfish is known for its hard fighting qualities, with large weights becoming readily available in both the UK and Europe anglers are requiring heavy duty tackle to subdue these monsters.

In the Ebro area of Spain, around Mequinenza, catfish of over 100lb are common with the record now in excess of 200lb!

Even in the UK the catfish is regularly starting to grow to sizes in excess of 50lb and anglers are flocking to venues on the chance of hooking up with one.
